Prospectus
Formed in San Francisco ages ago - in fact shortly after the construction of the Mission Dolores by Spanish missionaries in 1776 - AMUSIA is an inimitable mélange of noises, produced by techniques such as vibration of strings and hominid vocalization. In their day jobs, the responsible parties are known as Michael Shockey and Marc Wilson.
In 2011 they released the 25-track CD The Ten-Year Retrospective Debut EP Box Set. (It kind of looks over there like it has 21 tracks, doesn’t it. Well, there are some extra-extra sundries on the disc.) This was followed by a series of festival-screened supporting videos culminating in 2014’s Smart Chimp. In 2016 they issued a season of The Amusia Story Podcast in 21 episodes. Presently (2021) they’re producing a second season of the podcast.
New in 2021
We’re working backward into a second podcast series, with its mammoth anchor/finale in the can.
And in the meantime, we had out debut last fall on the venerable, venerate-able DR. DEMENTO SHOW with our song “The Blues”. Here’s the show clip >>>

“Smart Chimp” is a 2014 animated short film based on a track from The Ten-Year Retrospective Debut EP Box Set. Its screenings on the festival circuit included at the Coney Island Film Festival and Berkeley Video and Film Festival.
